According to legend, everywhere the baby Buddha stepped, a lotus flower bloomed. The flower grows in muddy water, and it is this environment that gives forth the flower's first and most literal meaning: rising and blooming above the murk to achieve enlightenment. Different-coloured lotuses have different meanings. The white lotus represents mental purity and spiritual perfection. The red lotus is the symbol of love and compassion. The blue lotus represents wisdom and intelligence and is always pictured partially opened. A gold lotus represents the achievement of complete enlightenment. A 4-hour Cloisonne Filigree experience for beginners that includes - Introduction to Tibetan Thangka art and Cloisonne Filigree craftsmanship - Appreciation of Cloisonne Filigree Thangka works of Master Tsultrim Norbu - Demonstration of Cloisonne Filigree technique - Make your own Cloisonne Filigree art piece - Cloisonne pigment mineral glaze of your choice (subject to colour availability) Workshop fee: HK$750 (all materials, mini easel stand, instructional fee inclusive) Duration: 4 hours (overrun charges are waived for the first 30 minutes, HK$150 per hour after) Size of artwork: 10cm (H) x 10cm (W) You can reschedule a scheduled session one time 24 hours prior to the session appointment. The completed artwork requires drying overnight.
